The University of Zakho Organized a Seminar on “The Novel and Society”
In the presence of Dr. Hoger T. Tawfiq, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and the academic staff, along with the university students, the University of Zakho organized a seminar for the writer and novelist Mr. Sabri Slevaney.
The seminar discussed the novel as a literary objective that aims to describe community, identify problems and solve them.
Mr. Sabri Slevaney stated that the novel is a credible monitoring of reality without embellishment. Additionally, it does not flourish in a society with rigid thoughts. He also claimed that the majority of novels written nowadays contradict the reality. Novel is not just a piece of paper filled with words, but rather an idea.
Eventually, a discussion session emerged and Mr. Sabri Slevaney concluded his speech by expressing his sincere gratitude to the University of Zakho for being a guest at the university.
